Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders
|
Statistics indicate 3-6% of school children in
the United States have ADHD, with symptoms of significantly reduced attention
span and increased spontaneous physical activity. Public schools spend more
than $1 billion annually for students with ADHD. Diagnosis of this disorder
often results in putting the child on long-term medication.

|
There has not been an accurate method of
clinically diagnosing hyperactivity in free living. IDEEA will be extremely
valuable for the monitoring of physical activity level and for the assessment
of behavior patterns. It provides objective and accurate evidence for the
diagnosis and treatment of children with ADHD by reporting the type, duration,
frequency, and intensity of various PA and exercises either during school or at
home. The accurate time stamps and accompanying event record also assists to
distinguish purposeful activity from random, spontaneous activities. Not only
is such information useful in the diagnosis of ADHD, but we believe that this
capability will provide important feedback in therapy programs for this
condition.

|
IDEEA is what researchers have been waiting for decades! It is the most
powerful and accurate device ever of its kind. The data analysis and
result presentation is astounding.
|
|
|
The birth of IDEEA creates a new era for studies in physical activity,
behavior and fitness. Truly remarkable!
